I agree the show is boring without Alicia and Thorsten. They did bring a spark to the show that no one has been able to supply. I think it is the chemistry they have together and that each has with the other actors.

Gator, I absolutely agree with you. I as well will not believe that an agreement can not eventually be reached between Thorsten and ABC. ABC I am sure is very much aware of TK's popularity and the fan base that supports him as well as his pairing with Alicia and the tremendous public outcry that their departure has generated. When the move to CA was first announced ,TK was not happy about having to leave his family for periods at a time, but was willing to commute. What happened afterwards was probably a disagreement about contract conditions, something that can always be renegotiated between the parties involved. As Gator pointed out, other actors have left and have come back, when conditions became ameanable to both ABC and the actors.
Thorsten Kaye is not an actor that AMC can afford to lose and neither is Alicia Minshew. I am holding out hope that there will be good news forthcoming soon.

OK, I am a little hopeful for AMC. I just read a Preview for what's coming in February on Soapnet and I think that the old AMC will be back soon. Jack's coming back..this whole Ryan/Erica thing will be over soon, Brooke's headed back into town (She and Annie will butt heads, as well as Erica and Brooke), and I think they mentioned something about bringing a long lost Chandler back. Not for sure who that is. Can't be Skye, since she is a Quartermaine, but it will be interesting to see.
With all of this going on, things sound like they will get better. Now if we could just get AMC to bring back Greenlee's true love....Leo. I know Josh Duhmel would not return, since he's making movies now, but they could come up with someone. I mean; afterall, Leo and Vanessa's bodies were never found. I say that she's been holding Leo hostage to keep him away from Greenlee, since she hated her so much. Just a thought..

I wish I could share your enthusiasm about AMC, but after reading the February forecast I find nothing new or exciting to look forward to. I see only the same old rehashed s/ls that have failed in the past. What is there so exciting about seeing Greenlee back seeking revenge, because the people she knew moved on with their lives while she was away? Been there done that. What is so exciting about her seeking revenge over one of the most useless men in PV...Ryan Lavery? Been there done that.
The short returns of Brooke and Dixie are IMO nothing more than desperate token attempts to generate a return of viewers lost to character and show history destruction by one of the worst hack writers in the industry. It will be nothing more than a band aid on a show that needs major surgery. The loss of David Canary this spring will leave another gaping hole in the show's canvas.
When Zach and Kendall left PV, the potential for any exciting and romantic s/ls left with them. Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew breathed life into their characters and no matter how bad the writing, their charismatic pairing gave AMC it's spirit and heart. Without them I find the show desperately wanting. When I hear that both TK and AM are coming back, only then will I again invest in watching AMC on a daily basis.

You know, I don't get you people on this post. Why even bother watching AMC at all. To me, it sounds like you all have a very boring show in mind for AMC. A show completely centered around Zach and Kendall. In my opinion, we've had enough of Kendall/Zach/Erica/Ryan/Annie. For the last two years we have had the entire show featured around these characters. The TRUE history of the show featured a variety of characters, facing a variety of different problems/situations; Hence the name, "ALL MY CHILDREN." Mixing the veterans in to the existing cast might generate some interesting plots/stories that could help the show, plus give the cast some better material to work with. They have been running on fumes with the current storylines, and it has ruined what AMC is all about. Oh, and Brooke is not coming back for a short stint. So, we should all rejoice for that. Could care less about Dixie coming back, but who knows maybe it will be something interesting. Anyway, my whole point in a 1 hour soap featured around Zach and Kendall doesn't sound too interesting to me. Give the other actors a chance to shine.

With all due respect.... Everyone is entitled to our opinions, as are you...
No one is saying we want the "Zendall Hour"..... We are saying that AMC is lacking without is two best actors, two most fascinating characters, & the best, sexiest, most exciting couple daytime has ever seen..
As far as the show focusing on only a few characters, your right... it does & continues to do that..
How can you honestly say the show is changing when the focus in on Rylee...24/7...
It's the GL, Ryass, Rylee hour all over again & has been for years...
I'm happy JB/Brook is coming back, but it would mean a lot more if she were back permanently...Not just for a few months to help DC/Adam exit...
I could also care less about Dixie, but T/D fans love her, a week stint all to push this stupid triangle with KWAK/Tad/Fake Liza.... Isn't worth it...just another stunt and stunts don't work in the long run...
There are characters on AMC that I still love, but they either have no story or are wasted proping/pimping useless characters, whose time has come & gone, but Frons loves them, so the other characters are screwed..
Yes, it's nice to hear that RyErica is finally ending.... that vomit inducing mess should never have started & my heart breaks for SL.....
But we get Frons precious princess sucking what little life is left out of the show..
GL returns, GL is angry that life went on, GL seeks revenge.... Wash, Rinse, Repeat.... Same thing happened last time.. Let's just hope that they don't have her kidnap Emma, drive her off a cliff, & cause her to be deaf..
GL is all about Ryass.....again....and that will fail
I love Jangie, David, Tad, Erica, Opal.....but let's face it... They are being wasted....
Also, WW/Jack is returning.... For what, a few days so that Erica can get away from Ryass... Then what????
Oh yeah, the rivalry btw Erica & the vile green gnome,...... Does anyone really wanna see Erica being brought down the GL level...
OLTL allows characters to grow, mature, and do s/l that makes sense....
Look at Vicki, Dorian, Bo, Nora, Clint...
WTH can't they have Erica in an adult s/l with adults...Instead of being wasted on this childish mess...
Zendall never dominated the show...
Ryass, GL, Fake Liza, & Annie have for the last year..
Yes, Zendall had a s/l, but in that s/l it was more about giving Ryass, Fake Liza screentime...
The focus has & continues to be on Ryass, GL, Annie, Fake Liza..... where is the balance in that...
Happy that you are still watching that crapfest, but it isn't balanced....and Yes, I would love Zendall back.....with a s/l that is worthy of them....not as props, pimps for Frons pets..
Actually, I would love ABC to do a spin off of AMC with The Slaters & the Hubbards together..... Then I could have what I want and you & those like you could have the Ryass, GL, Fake Liza, Annie hour.....

I guess I am included in your comments because you have stated "you people" who posted in this thread,..and I posted, so I guess you have a problem with my opinions as well.
Yes I feel that Zach and Kendall are sorely missed at AMC at this time. But no where did I insinuate that I wanted to see the Zach and Kendall hour. I do want a well balanced show with good writing for everyone...Zen included.
I love Jesse and Angie..true history characters/actors.. but I am not seeing them getting any dynamic storyline at this time.
I too am sick of the AnnieRyanErica as you mentioned but I don't link all five characters together. I would like to see Zach back with Kendall to act out a decent well written storyline instead of the junk they were asked to do in the last year that supported Charles Pratt's horrible vision for AMC instead of being written as who they are.
I would look forward to seeing Julia Barr but frankly, I love David Canary as Adam so the fact that she is being brought to the show to help David Canary exit the show in March when his contract is up does not thrill me as I am losing yet another character I love. And yes she IS coming back for a two month stint only.
Instead, we are watching the Greenlee hour..which is fine if you are a Greenlee fan - but I am not. It seems like this entire current storyline is based on the fact that she is upset that Ryan moved on..in spite of the fact that she made a video and TOLD him to move on. So where is the drama in that? I don't see it...I just see a 30 something character acting like a 15 year old.
I would be happy for the Dixie fans if Dixie was coming back for real..instead she is coming back for a week, probably to give Tad permission to also move on with NotLiza. Someone obviously feels the storyline won't sell itself and are using the Dixie fans to do it. I don't approve.
What we are left with is not much...except a lot of talk about bringing this show back to it's roots and yet, I don't see it and I don't believe it.
And not for nothing, you said earlier in this thread that you will miss TK and Zach as much as everyone and wished he would come back but you, unlike us, were facing reality that he is gone. Now, you are sick of Zach and the Zendall hour! Which is it?

I agree with just about everything you said. I guess my frustrations came from reading all of the threads about Zach and Kendall. And you're right, I did say that I would miss TK on the show, but that's all anyone posts on here is how much they are going to miss Zach. They're not killing the guy off, so maybe he will come back. I thought Kendall and Zach make a great pair, but I don't think they are the be all end all couple of daytime that everyone else seems to think they are. That crown goes to Angie & Jessie, who are not being utilized at all. Why? Because over the past year or two we have had Erica/Ryan/Annie/Kendall/Zach. This is the point where I disagree with you. Those five characters have been running the show. Ryan and Erica hate Annie so much, yet everytime you turn around, they are in her face about something trivial. Ryan needs to spend more time with his neglected daughter that he fights so hard in court to keep, but spends absolutely no time with. Let's not forget about the horrible storyline that they put Kendall/Zach/Aidan through. I still can't believe what they did to poor Aidan. It's just been ridiculous. Who knows, maybe I was wrong in my previous thread about being optimistic, but I thought with the return of a few fan faves it might help with some of the stories. I think we will all be glad when Pratt's stories are wrapped up and we don't have to endure this pain anymore. Let's face it....no one wants to watch a show centered around Greenlee, but it's probably going to happen. What else are they going to write about, being that AMC can't hold on to any other characters. I had no idea that David Canary was leaving. I know everyone will be happy when Alicia returns from her maternity leave, but I don't think she is going to be enough to save the show. That fate lies in the hands of the new head writers. Spinoff show isn't a bad idea though.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but this thread is entitled Bring Back Zach, Zendall, Team Slater!!!, so it stands to reason we're not going to spend alot of time praising other characters in this particular thread. This thread has alot of activity because it's something that interests us and here we are, posting about it. I would think that's something AMC should be trying to harness--passion about a fictional couple with alot of history on AMC. It's not a bad thing. AMC should be trying to keep or attract passionate viewers back to the show. All we're doing is posting our frustration and our hope for the future.
No one wants to see the Zendall Hour, but I actually watched yesterday's AMC for the first time in almost a month (only because I'd heard there were Zach and Kendall references), and I was bored silly. Right now, for me, AMC doesn't work.
As for better balance on the show, I'm not sure why I have to accept that if Zach and Kendall return to AMC, it would automatically be them in every.single.storyline. Two new HWs are coming on to AMC, and it's definitely possible that they will write story that doesn't revolve around Zendall all the time. It's not automatically a given. As things stand, from what I saw yesterday and read in the scoops, it's the Ryan/Greenlee Hour, and that isn't going to make me re-program my DVD recorder for AMC anytime soon. Besides, and JMO, but if TK and AM did return to AMC together, they might have more time constraints if they're both unwilling to move to California and can only work on a limited schedule. If that's the case, then it stands to reason that AMC wouldn't revolve around Zendall.
But I will add that for some of us, having Zach and Kendall on the frontburner for a few years was a good thing, and TK and AM got some Emmy nominations to go along with it, so having AMC write for Zen (assuming they can write some good, character-driven story for a change) is not a turnoff for me. :-)

And as if to answer our prayers, SOD is reporting that TK and AM WILL be back as Zendall for a short-term stint in April.
Yippee for us!
I guess it goes to show that those of us who hoped, and wrote in, and said that one should never say never, were right all along. :-)
Now all we need is for ABC to reach longer-term deals with both AM and TK for Zen's longer-lasting return, and I'll come back to AMC as a fulltime viewer, and not just in April.
