I agree with what you are saying
For the record to those who think I believe child abuse is ok. Your wrong. I just can seperate soap world from real life. If I couldn't I wouldn't be able to stand any of my soaps. Common they are nothing but one big nutty story.
The only thing in the Annie story I find wrong is the Show using a small child the way they are at this time. To me that is wrong.

Since every word out of her mouth is a lie, since I have no faith that she loves Adam (no matter what MCE says in interviews, it's not coming across to me) . . .
Oh, sure, Annie loves Adam. That's why she jumps at every opportunity to suck face with his nephew Scott. Annie wants whatever can do the most good for Annie. If marrying a rich man and fooling around with his nephew serves that purpose, so be it. Amoral doesn't begin to describe this character. Lucy Merriam is not moving to LA, so they are going to re-cast the part of Emma. Wrong move. They should declare BOTH Ryan and Annie unfit to raise a child and just let her ride off into the sunset with an adoptive couple who have family values and who will put her welfare before their own.

I think all of us can separate fact from fiction and reality from soapdom, but...what I cannot separate is irresponsibility from anything. Pratt is an irresponsible writer and AMC is irresponsible in that they allow an actress to try and justify what is blantanty wrong .
It's ABC's aim to try and target the 12-18 age group. If they are going to target that age group then they have a responsibility to that age group that is still forming their consciences and learning right from wrong to show that murder and child abuse have heavy consequences even in fiction. Good doesn't always win out sadly, but this character has committed such heinous crimes that were viewed by the fans and is continuously put in the forefront with no sign that she will be punished ,that's irresponsibility and an insult to the intelligence of the fans. Judges that can be paid off when a murderess is brought before them or a person that abuses children and gets way with it, is written and acted irresponsibly.

I can certainly separate soap from real life and understand that on soaps everything is exaggerated. What I find disgusting about this storyline and the character of Annie is that she is teaching this to a 7 yr old! If Emma was a teenager who at least had some life experience to make her own decisions maybe this story could work. But it is precisely because of Emma's age and her impressionable young mind that this s/l and the character of Annie are so sickening.
And yes it has become extremely easy to ff through anything Annie or Emma.

It's been easy to fast forward through the entire show these days. What Pratt has done to most of the characters is absolutely criminal.
I too understand that in soaps, things are exaggerated..but this is beyond stretching the limit of acceptablity. I don't enjoy watching Adam as an old fool, Annie is a lost cause - what she is doing to Emma is beyond criminal. Liza lecturing Stuart bio mother about ignoring her son for a guy was laughable at best, being she spent all of her time doing the same thing. The plot that David cooked up is beyond stupid..and the fact that Amanda is even considering it is an insult to women, and Jake is just sitting by?? Am I really supposed to care about any of these people?

KathyNYC,How true all of what you have said.
They have emasculated Adam by pairing him with Annie. The fans saw her commit these crimes and the circumstances under which she committed them, yet she has suffered no consequences for them. Adam used to be a sly and intuitive character who could see through, over and beyond a person. He was possessive of his family and yes obsessive also, yet he turned his back on them and has lost his masculinity, he intuitiveness, and his family. He rejected his son and grandson for this waste of space that is Annie.Am I to sympathize with this character who should have been put in prison a long time ago. A short stint in Oakhaven to evaluate her ability to stand trial is not a punishment, but part of the judicial process so she would have gotten a fair trial. But she got no trial, nothing but an ankle bracelet while she awaited her fate from a crooked judge. Annie needs to be written out!
JR has cancer wouldn't that have been a wonderful sl for David Canary and Jacob Young to play out? but no...
Jake and Amanda two of the biggest morons ever to be on AMC, Jake is a wuss and Amanda is and always has been a airhead. . Who in their right mind agrees to let your wife live with someone else? Didn't they ever hear of legal custody? Oh wait no, this is Pratt where murderesses only have to wear an ankle bracelet because their motive for killing was because they loved someone, or they were sick. Someone still died !
Liza is a nonentity and doesn't even bear mentioning. If she disappeared from the show no one would even know or care. Yeah right some turbo!
